Our Story

Last Train To Shibuya was born from a trip neither of us could stop thinking about.

In 2024, co-founders Camille Baker and Dainelle Riley traveled through Tokyo — Yokohama, Shibuya, Shinjuku — and found something unexpected: a deep, genuine appreciation for Black culture, especially the Southern Black American and Caribbean traditions we grew up in. It showed up in the music, the bars, the way people moved through the night. We felt at home in a place 7,000 miles from it.

We wanted to bring that feeling back to Tampa.

Last Train To Shibuya is our answer — a Japanese R&B speakeasy and lounge where Southern Black American culture meets Japanese design and hospitality. Our menu reflects that same fusion, built around the flavors and traditions of both worlds. Our sound is intentional too: R&B only. A departure from what you'd expect, and from what most "Japanese-inspired" spots in America even attempt, since so many are shaped by a more Eurocentric lens.

The Kitchen

Our food is powered by Saucin Wings, led by Chef Chris Riley, whose extensive culinary career shapes every plate that leaves the kitchen. It's Southern flavor with an intentional Japanese touch — the same fusion that defines everything else about this space.

This isn't a copy of Tokyo. It's what we felt there, translated into a room in Seminole Heights.
